WHOIS Domain Lookup
Find out who a domain is registered with, when it was created and when it expires, its status codes and nameservers. Uses RDAP, the modern replacement for WHOIS.
How it works
About WHOIS and RDAP
RDAP instead of port-43 WHOIS
Registries now publish registration data over RDAP, a structured HTTPS protocol. We look up the right RDAP server for the domain's extension and show the main fields.
Privacy
Most registrars hide the owner's personal details, so you will normally see the registrar and dates but not a name or address.
Status codes
Codes such as clientTransferProhibited are normal locks that protect the domain. redemptionPeriod or pendingDelete mean the domain expired and may become available soon.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I see the owner's name?
Privacy rules such as GDPR mean registrars redact personal contact details. Contact the registrar's abuse address shown in the result if you need to report the domain.
The domain shows as not registered. Can I buy it?
Probably. Check it in our domain search for the live price and register it in a few clicks.
Do you support every extension?
All gTLDs and most ccTLDs publish RDAP. A few country domains do not, and for those the lookup may fail.
