DNS Propagation Checker
Check whether a DNS change has reached the world: we query your record from up to 24 locations at once and group the answers.
How it works
How DNS propagation works
There is no push
Resolvers keep each answer until its TTL expires and only then ask again. "Propagation" is simply the old answers expiring in caches around the world.
Reading the result
Each probe asks the resolver of its own network. When every location shows the new value, the change is effectively live everywhere.
Speed it up next time
Lower the record's TTL to a few minutes a day before a planned change, then raise it again afterwards.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why do some locations still show the old value?
Their resolvers cached the old answer and keep it until the TTL runs out. Nothing needs to be done — they update on their own.
I changed nameservers. How long will it take?
Nameserver changes go through the registry, whose NS records often have TTLs of one to two days, so allow up to 48 hours.
Who runs the probes?
The checks run on the Globalping network of community and datacenter probes, straight from your browser.
