Website Speed Test from Around the World
Measure how fast your site answers worldwide: DNS, connect, TLS, time to first byte and download time from up to 12 locations at once.
How it works
What the timings mean
Time to first byte (TTFB)
The time until the first byte of the response arrives. It includes DNS, the connection, TLS and the time your server or CDN needs to answer.
Distance matters
Each round trip to a far-away server adds latency. A CDN answers from a nearby edge, so TTFB stays low everywhere.
Only the HTML
The test fetches the page itself, not images or scripts, so it measures server and network speed rather than rendering.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is a good TTFB?
Under 200 ms is excellent, under 500 ms is fine for most sites. Consistently high values far from your server mean a CDN would help.
Why is the first test slower?
Caches are cold on the first request. Run the test again to see the cached speed.
Does the test follow redirects?
No. It measures the URL you enter. Use the HTTP headers checker to trace redirects.
