Create a cloud server
Choose a product, plan and image in the console and pay for a cloud server from your balance.
This page explains how to buy a cloud server in the console and what each option in the order flow means.
Before you begin
- Make sure your account balance is sufficient. Cloud servers are paid directly from your account balance when you place the order; you cannot submit an order if the balance is too low. See the billing documentation for how to top up.
- Decide which operating system you need and roughly where you want the instance to run.
Key concepts

| Plan (配置) | The instance's resources: CPU, memory, bandwidth, system disk, snapshot quota and so on. Plans are either fixed (固定配置) or elastic (弹性配置). |
| Image (镜像) | The operating system installed on the instance. Available images differ by product; the list on screen is authoritative. |
| Billing period (计费周期) | How long one purchase covers, in months, as defined by the plan's price list. |
Steps
- In the left-hand menu, go to 云服务器 > 购买实例 (Cloud Servers > Buy Instance), or click 购买虚拟机 (Buy VM) in the top-right corner of 我的实例 (My Instances).
- 选择产品 (Choose product): click a product card. Each card shows the product name, a region tag and a short description. Products tagged 弹性 (Elastic) in green let you customize resources. If the card shows 剩余 (Remaining), stock for that product is limited. Click 下一步 (Next).
- 选择配置 (Choose plan): pick a plan card. Each card lists CPU, memory, bandwidth, system disk and snapshot count, along with a "from … per month" (/月起) reference price. A one-time setup fee, if any, is shown separately.
- 固定配置 (Fixed plan): resources are fixed; just select it.
- 弹性配置 (Elastic plan): after you select it, a 自定义配置 (Custom configuration) panel appears. Use the sliders to adjust CPU 核心数 (vCPU cores), 内存 (memory), 出口带宽 (outbound bandwidth), 系统盘 (system disk), 数据盘 (data disk), 公网IP (number of public IPs) and 快照数 (snapshot quota). Minimums, maximums and step sizes are set by the plan, and out-of-range values are rejected.
- Click 下一步 to reach 选择镜像 (Choose image) and pick an operating system image. Each card shows the image type and the minimum disk size it needs (Windows images need a larger system disk, for example).
- If the product spans several zones, a 选择区域 (可选) (Choose zone, optional) selector appears below the images. Pick one to choose where the instance is placed, or leave it empty to let the system choose.
- Click 下一步 to reach 确认订单 (Confirm order):
- Under 订单详情 (Order details), check the product, plan, image and resources.
- Under 基础设置 (Basic settings), enter a 主机名 (hostname) and Root密码 (root password). Both are optional; if left empty they are generated for you. Hostnames may contain only letters, digits and hyphens, up to 64 characters. Passwords must be 8–64 characters.
- Under 计费 (Billing), choose a 计费周期 (billing period; shown only if the plan offers more than one) and check 应付总额 (total due) against 账户余额 (account balance).
- Click 确认购买 (Confirm purchase). If your balance is too low, the button reads 余额不足 (Insufficient balance) and is disabled, and the page shows how much you need to top up.
Double-check your configuration before you submit. Your balance is charged and the instance starts building as soon as the order is placed.
After purchase
When the order succeeds the page shows 购买成功！ (Purchase successful) together with:
- 虚拟机ID (VM ID) and 虚拟机名称 (VM name)
- 主机名 (hostname)
- IP地址 (IP address). If it shows 分配中... (Allocating), check the instance detail page a little later.
- Root密码 (root password), with a copy button
Copy the root password and store it somewhere safe right away. You can also view or change it later under 基础信息 > 初始密码 (Basic info > Initial password) on the instance detail page.
Click 查看虚拟机列表 (View VM list) to return to 我的实例. A new instance first shows the status 创建中 (Creating) and changes to 运行中 (Running) when it is ready. This can take several minutes. You can then log in as described in Connect to a cloud server.
Billing
- Order total = the fee for the selected billing period + any one-time setup fee. The purchase page shows the current price.
- After the charge succeeds, a matching invoice is created and appears in the billing centre.
- If the instance fails to build, the amount charged is automatically refunded to your account balance and the invoice is voided.
The console does not currently offer self-service renewal, cancellation or deletion of instances. To renew, release an instance early or change products, contact support.
Instance statuses
The 我的实例 list and the instance detail page can show these statuses:

| 删除中 (Deleting) | The instance is being deleted |
Troubleshooting
"产品已售罄" (Product sold out) or "该配置已售罄" (Plan sold out) Stock for that product or plan has run out. Choose a different product or plan.
"暂无可用节点" (No available node) or "节点已满" (Node full) There is not enough capacity in that location right now. Try another product (location) or contact support.
"该镜像不适用于所选产品" (Image not available for this product) or "该配置不支持所选镜像" (Plan does not support this image) Some plans support only certain images. Go back to the 选择镜像 step and pick another image.
