Domain service overview

What Yeap Cloud Domain Registration offers: search, registration, transfer-in, management and security features.

4 minit bacaan Dikemas kini 6 Okt 2026

Yeap Cloud Domain Registration registers and manages domain names for you through our upstream registrar partners. Domains are held under your Yeap Cloud account, all charges go through your regular invoices, and domains plug directly into Yeap DNS and Yeap CDN.

Note

Console labels are currently displayed in Chinese. This guide gives the English meaning first, followed by the label you will see in parentheses.

Key features

The Domain Search page offers four modes:

  • Search (域名搜索): enter a full domain such as example.com, or just the name part, to check availability.
  • Bulk search (批量查询): check many names at once, choosing extensions individually or from presets.
  • IDN search (IDN 搜索): check internationalized domain names in non-Latin scripts.
  • Advanced search (高级搜索): combine regular and IDN extensions freely.

Results show whether each domain is available and its price. If a domain is already registered and you are its holder with a transfer authorization code, you can start a transfer straight from the results.

Supported extensions: the TLDs you can register are the ones shown in search results. Price, allowed registration periods and extra requirements vary by extension.

Registration and transfer-in

  • Registration periods from 1 to 10 years.
  • A transfer requires the authorization code (EPP code / Auth Code) from your current registrar.
  • Submitting a registration or transfer creates an invoice. The request is sent to the registry only after the invoice is paid. Processing is automatic, and failed attempts are retried automatically.

See Register, transfer and renew for the steps.

My Domains

The My Domains list can be filtered by status (active, pending, expired, suspended, transferred out) and by expiry (expired, or expiring within 7/30/60/90 days), and searched by domain or registrar. For each domain you can:

  • Change nameservers (the DNS button in the list, or on the detail page)
  • Renew, or select several domains and bulk renew (1–10 years)
  • Turn auto-renew on or off
  • Lock or unlock the domain
  • Turn WHOIS privacy on or off
  • Retrieve the transfer-out code (Auth Code)
  • Update contact information
  • View additional information (extra registration data some extensions require)

Click a domain to open its detail page, which shows the registrar, expiry date and feature support tags, plus four tabs: Overview (概览: nameservers and recent operations), Contacts (联系人), DNSSEC, and Glue records (胶水记录).

Contact templates

A contact template stores registrant details: first name, last name, email, phone, address, city, state/province, postal code and two-letter country code. You can mark one template as default and duplicate existing templates. Some extensions (for example .cn, .uk, .it and .br) require extra fields; you can manage these per extension inside a template, and they are filled in automatically at registration.

Security and privacy

  • Domain lock: prevents unauthorized transfers to another registrar. Transferred-in domains start locked.
  • WHOIS privacy: where the registrar and extension support it, hides your personal details from public WHOIS. It is on by default for registrations and transfers. If the extension does not support it, the detail page shows "privacy not supported" (不支持隐私) and the toggle is disabled.
  • Transfer-out code: if you want to move a domain to another registrar, retrieve its Auth Code in the console.

DNSSEC and glue records

Where the registrar and extension support it, the DNSSEC tab on the detail page lets you view the DS records held at the registrar, sync DNSSEC from Yeap DNS to the registrar, or add DS records manually. The Glue records tab lets you add IPv4/IPv6 glue for your own nameservers (such as ns1.example.com). The Features (功能支持) row on the detail page shows whether the domain supports DNSSEC, Glue, IDN and Privacy.

Availability depends on the extension

Extensions and registrars differ in what they support. If an action is unavailable in the console or fails when you submit it, the extension or registrar usually does not support it. Check the feature tags on the domain's detail page.

Expiry

During the 30 days before expiry, the detail page shows a reminder. After expiry a domain moves through a grace period, a redemption period and a pending-delete stage. How long each lasts depends on the extension.

  • Once the domain expires, the Yeap DNS zone that was created automatically with the registration stops answering queries. When the domain reaches pending delete, that zone is deleted. DNS zones you created or purchased separately are not affected.
  • If the domain is in its redemption period and the registrar supports restores, a Restore (恢复) button appears in My Domains. A restore usually carries an extra redemption fee.
Warning

You can only renew a domain while it is active. Renew before the expiry date, or turn on auto-renew and make sure the renewal invoice gets paid.
